Eliminating Hot Spots in Your Home

If your AC is operating and set at your desired temperature but you find an area of your home that is significantly warmer than the rest of the building, you have a hot spot. This can be due to a few different factors, and there are fixes you can apply in each case. Let’s look at some solutions you can use to get rid of hot spots. Make Sure It’s Not Due to the Sun Getting a lot of sun exposure can cause parts of your house to heat up significantly. Try replacing your curtains and drapes with ones made of a material more suitable for reflecting the sun and keeping the heat out. The sun alone is capable of increasing the temperature inside your home by several degrees, and that can cause hot spots. Unclog or Reroute Ducts If the sun is not the cause of your hot spot, then there’s potentially an airflow issue in the area.
